Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM FP) is currently visited by a delegation from Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), Indonesia. The delegation consists of 39 postgraduate students and 3 Academic Staff for an Academic Visit 2018 program. This program runs from 7 January 2018 to 16 January 2018, led by Dr. Zainudin Hassan, a senior lecturer in Faculty of Education UTM.
Multiple activities have been scheduled during this 2 weeks program such as workshops, seminars, and outdoor activities that can shape their generic skills and expertise in particular areas of studies such as mathematics and learning technologies. This program will also educate the delegation about the culture of Malaysians.
The workshop such as Using Games in Teaching and Learning will be conducted to teach the students about contemporary learning technologies that could be applied in schools and universities. Other activity such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) Education Workshop is to train students with the idea of knowledge integration to prepare future workforce with 21st century skills such as teamworking, creativity and innovation, and critical thinking.
This program is one of the initiatives by Faculty of Education UTM to foster international collaborations with international universities It is hoped that study visit program will help to increase visibility of the faculty and UTM at the global stage and thus achieve UTM’s mission for a greater recognition by global communities.
