PERASMIAN GREEN OFFICE MONTH FAKULTI PENDIDIKAN, UTM

UTM, JOHOR BAHRU, 7 MAC 2017 : Fakulti Pendidikan, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia telah melancarkan “Green Office Month”  bersempena dengan inisiatif UTM dalam mewujudkan  budaya kampus lestari . Usaha ini adalah selaras dengan Dasar Alam Sekitar Negara di mana satu daripada tujuh Strategi Hijau memberi fokus kepada kesedaran dan pendidikan alam sekitar kepada semua golongan masyarakat. Majlis perasmian “Green Office Month”  ini telah dirasmikan oleh Dekan Fakulti Pendidikan iaitu Prof. Dr. Baharuddin Aris dan seterusnya melancarkan beberapa kempen  seperti “Clean, Give + Go Green” dan “Stair Friendly”. Sempena majlis pelancaran  ini, beberapa pertandingan telah dianjurkan untuk semua staf dan mahasiswa Fakulti Pendidikan seperti pertandingan e-Poster yang bertemakan “Sustainable Development Towards A Greener Future”, “Green Ideas Bank”, “Three minutes talk” bertemakan memperkasakan persekitaran hijau, “Take a Selfie” dan pertandingan video pendek bertemakan “Let’s Go Green”.

Sepanjang tahun 2017, Green Manager Fakulti Pendidikan iaitu Dr. Dayana Farzeeha Ali bersama jawatankuasa Green Office Fakulti telah merancang pelbagai aktiviti menarik dalam menarik minat dan memupuk budaya lestari dalam kalangan staf dan mahasiswa FP. Antara aktiviti-aktiviti yang dirancang sepanjang tahun adalah Green Food Cooking Demonstration, Organic Kitchen Garden, Teaching Green, Seminar Hijau, Lawatan ke Industri berasaskan Teknologi Hijau, Car Boot Sale dan banyak lagi. Jawatankuasa Green Office FP juga mengambil inisiatif mewujudkan laman web Green Office FP bagi berkongsi segala maklumat berkaitan dengan aktiviti yang dijalankan oleh FP. Segala maklumat berkaitan dengan aktiviti Green Office Fakulti Pendidikan boleh didapati di laman web http://educ.utm.my/fpgreenoffice/.

Pelaksanaan Program Green Office diharapkan dapat memberi nilai tambah dalam usaha mewujudkan persekitaran hijau di Fakulti Pendidikan. Ini akan menjadikan UTM sebagai institusi yang kondusif dan ceria untuk proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran, di samping mewujudkan warga UTM yang mencintai alam sekitar. Semoga program kesedaran seperti ini dapat diteruskan di masa hadapan agar dapat memberi peluang kepada semua untuk mengamal, menghayati dan membudayakan ciri-ciri mesra alam di persekitaran kampus, rumah,komuniti setempat, masyarakat dan akhirnya di peringkat negara.

 

UTM, JOHOR BAHRU, 7 MARCH 2017: Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia has launched “Green Office Month” in conjunction with UTM initiatives in creating a sustainable campus culture. This effort is consistent with National Environmental Policy since one of the seven Green Strategies focuses on environmental awareness and education to all community. “Green Office Month” was officiated by Prof. Dr. Baharuddin Aris, Dean Faculty of Education and several campaigns such as a “Clean, Give + Go Green” and “Stair Friendly” were also launched during the ceremony. In addition, interesting competitions were organized for staffs and students such as e-poster competition on “Sustainable Development Towards A Greener Future”, “Green Ideas Bank”, “Three minutes talk” with the theme Empowering green environment, “Take a Selfie ” competition and short video competition themed” Let’s Go Green “.

Throughout 2017, Dr. Dayana Farzeeha Ali, Green Manager, Faculty of Education and her Green Office committee have planned a variety of activities to attract and foster sustainability culture among FP staffs and students. Among the activities planned throughout the year are Green Food Cooking Demonstration, Organic Kitchen Garden, Teaching Green, Green Seminar, visit to Green Technology-based industries and Car Boot Sale. Green Office Agricultural Committee will also take the initiative to create Green Office FP website to share all information related to the activities conducted by FP. Therefore, all information related to Green Office activities at Faculty of Education can be found in http://educ.utm.my/fpgreenoffice/.

The implementation of Green Office Program is expected to give added value in creating green environment at Faculty of Education. Consequently, it will make UTM a cheerful and conducive institution for teaching and learning. In addition, the program will help to produce UTM citizens who love the environment. It is hoped that such programs can be continue in the future in order to provide opportunities  to practise, appreciate and inculcate environmental friendly values in the campus, home, community, society and ultimately at the national level.
